Search for ‘Baby BSL’ or ‘Where is the Bird?’  in the AppStore and GooglePlay. Permit camera access and trust the source. You will need the  book to trigger the AR.

Baby BSL’s ‘Where is the Bird?’ (RRP £8.99) is a book + smartphone app designed to go wherever you go. Turn the pages and ‘wake up’ ten magical illustrations that pop-up out of the page through your smart-phone as augmented reality (AR) animations, before being paired with one video of 20 British Sign Language (BSL) signs.

Where is the Bird? is a playfully interactive, multi-media learning experience that is affordable, portable, flexible and fun. The potential impact of using sign language with ANY child before they can speak is huge. It has the potential to reduce the ‘Terrible Twos’, a time when hearing children have independent thoughts and wishes, but cannot express them.

The Baby BSL Signs Bird, Ball, Slide, Swing, Banana, Plane, Flower, Tree, Buggy, Hat (AR + video) + Milk, Hurt, Eat, Drink, More, Finished, Sleep, Nappy, Hot, Hurt (Video only)

Our mission
A national awareness campaign for British Sign Language to become the standardised sign language for ‘baby sign’, and thereafter for BSL to be officially recognised with equal status to Welsh and Gaellic. If every parent in the UK knew these 20 BSL signs, then integration between deaf and hearing communities would improve dramatically. Why learn ‘baby sign’ when you can support the Deaf community by learning BSL?
